“Texas is one of the races I have been looking most forward to this year,” Pigot said. “We’ve qualified strong at Indianapolis; but, the race didn’t end how we were hoping, so it’s exciting to get another high-speed oval so soon afterward and see what we’ve got.”
While the race may be Pigot’s first career start at Texas Motor Speedway; RSR’s Founder and CEO, Art Wilmes is confident in Pigot’s natural talent.
“Spencer is refining his craft, week after week and seeing serious improvement from last season,” Wilmes said. “I am really proud of him.”
Newgarden is determined.
“We’ve had a few weeks that haven’t gone our way; but, we’re ready to change all that at Texas [Motor Speedway],” Newgarden said. “[Our] team has been working hard in this long stretch; but, we’re ready to do whatever we can to get back into victory lane.”
