JOSEF NEWGARDEN
HONDA INDY TORONTO
TEAM: TEAM PENSKE
STARTED: 7TH
FINISHED: 1ST
“I think that’s twice this year I’ve had good calls and gotten into the pits at the right time. Thank you to the guys and to Tim Cindric for making that call. We got it right, but it was about managing the race after that. I thought we had a very fast car, we got a pretty good start, and we stayed out of the mayhem. I’m very happy for Team Penske. This DeVilbiss Chevy was very fast today.”

SPENCER PIGOT
HONDA INDY TORONTO
TEAM: ED CARPENTER RACING
STARTED: 13TH
FINISHED: 18TH
“The race started off really well. It was tough initially to keep everyone behind me when we were on black tires and everyone else was on reds. It kind of came to us though and we were able to pass a lot of guys and work our way to fourth or fifth by the end of the first stint. The yellow was going to be bad timing for us anyway, but after that restart I had some contact with Sato. His wing cut my left rear tire. We had to make a stop for that, which put us in the back for the rest of the race. Unfortunately we never caught another yellow to make up for it. It was another promising race that went the wrong way for us!”

NEIL ALBERICO
INDY LIGHTS
TEAM: CARLIN
RACE 1 FINISH: 8TH
RACE 2 FINISH: 14TH
“I’ll be the first to admit I made a mistake in qualifying for Race 2 that cost us, but thanks to all of the Carlin Racing guys for their hard work this weekend in Toronto. We had two races this weekend, and I got collected in crashes that happened in front of me each race. I’m going to fight like crazy to qualify better so we can get this Rising Star Racing car back up front where we deserve to be.”
OLIVER ASKEW
USF2000
TEAM: CAPE MOTORSPORTS
RACE 1 FINISH: 2ND
RACE 2 FINISH: 12TH
“We qualified second and first for the two races this weekend in Toronto. In Race 1 we held second place from start to finish to extend the championship lead. Race 2 ended early for me when I was caught up in someone else’s incident. We still have a healthy point lead heading to Mid-Ohio, which is another track we should be strong at.”
