JOSEF NEWGARDEN
KOHLER GRAND PRIX
TEAM: TEAM PENSKE
STARTED: 3RD
FINISHED: 2ND
“I was doing what I could. Dixon was fast though, and Ganassi did a great job. I thought we had the cars to beat at Team Penske, but the caution came out at the wrong time for us. We had just put Firestone Black tires on when everyone else had the Firestone Reds. At the end, once we got up to speed I thought we were a little quicker than Dixon, but it’s difficult to pass here once you’re up to speed. If we keep being fast the rest of the year like this, I’m confident we’ll put ourselves in a position to win. We’ve got to have mistake-free days the rest of the year to chip away at Dixon’s point lead.”

 SPENCER PIGOT

KOHLER GRAND PRIX
TEAM: ED CARPENTER RACING
STARTED: 14TH
FINISHED: 12TH
“There was a lot of hard racing out there today. We had gotten pretty far up into the field before we had some issues with the front suspension that prevented us from continuing our move forward. We had to make an extra stop that took a long time, but the Fuzzy’s guys did a really good job at diagnosing the problem and fixing it as quick as they could. Our pace was really good and I’m slightly satisfied to come back to 12th. It was unfortunately another race where we should have finished much higher up!”

NEIL ALBERICO
INDY LIGHTS
TEAM: CARLIN
RACE 1 FINISH: 7TH
RACE 2 FINISH: 8TH
“It was a very up and down weekend in Road America. We had such a strong qualifying run, which is promising for the rest of the season. I’m proud of the team for their efforts, we just needed a few things to go our way in the race to get the result we deserve. Looking forward to the next event though, and it’s not a long wait this time!”
OLIVER ASKEW
USF2000
TEAM: CAPE MOTORSPORTS
RACE 1 FINISH: 17TH
RACE 2 FINISH: 3RD
“The racing this weekend was much closer than it has been at any other track so far this season. Unfortunately in Race 1, my left front camber bolt broke. I had to come into the pits for a repair after being in the fight to win. The Cape Motorsports crew did a great job to get me back on track to salvage some crucial championship points. We finished third in Race 2. I think this was the best we could do with the pace we had, and it was very important to finish on podium after a tough first race.”
