“I didn’t have a championship on the line this weekend in Laguna Seca, so my goal was to win races as opposed to collecting points. In Race 1 I was able to be really aggressive on the start and passed a bunch of guys on the outside. You’ve got to make the most of that first lap around Laguna Seca. It’s so important because once everyone settles into a rhythm it’s very difficult to pass. Moving up six positions in Race 1 was a solid day.

In Race 2 we gained a couple of positions, and that’s about the best we could do. Our race pace has been really good the last three races, and that’s great momentum to carry into the off-season. If we work on qualifying for next year, I know we’ll be able to race up front.
Congratulations to my Carlin teammate Ed Jones on winning the championship. Carlin got the team and driver championship this year, and that was not easy. Hopefully I’ll be back with these guys next year to give it another shot.”
